87th year of Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara

¡VIVA LA FIESTA! It was a beautiful morning for Los Pobladores as they participated in the 87th year of Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara. It was also the 225th anniversary of the Santa Barbara Mission. The Los Pobladores enjoyed coming together in as a family with many decendants, we take pride in our Ancestors who came before us and were honored to be asked to participate in this beautiful exciting parade.

Attending were officers, family and friends: President: Maria G Benitez, Vice President: Paul V Guzman, Secretary: Jeri Onopa Garcia,Treasurer: Irene S Hastings, Friends and members Charlie and Gail Sepulveda.  There were many attendents on the parade path that greeted everyone with excitement and pride to know there was history with all participants. We were even greeted by a kind resident amazed at all the wonderful horses and colorful riders. The Fiesta Historical Parade is one of the largest equestrian parades in the United States. The parade starts at the west end of Cabrillo Boulevard, proceeds east along the beach to State Street, then up State Street to Sola Street, which was filled with waving children and families. We thank all who attended, see you next year.
